@Gerakken: Aye, code has no emotion, but it can provoke emotions in humans, both for its creator and its user ("f'n work already you piece of"). Admittedly, love and passion are rare reactions (lol), but maybe that just means we aren't good enough coders. And women are always saying they want men to open up and be honest - you can't be much more revealing than sharing some code that represents you (if only vaguely), can you? Even if imperfect, it could give insight that roses or a box of chocolates really lack. (In theory, of course, I've never tried it obviously  . Okay, I'll stop talking trash now...)
Now, as for the smilie code, I looked up a few smilies
from sencho's smilie vault (best thing i ever found on the moo3 forum). First, something to use when party hats run out:

Do you not recall that CariElf claimed that she didn't like evil? That she preferred healers in RPGs? That she never plays the bad side? Do you think your VIOLENCE tactics are going to IMPRESS her?
Honestly, I had hoped, as a fan, you would have a higher opinion of her. But no, you're just a brainless jerk like most people in the world, thinking that beating up on people will help your cause with a girl. And you think she's one of those sleazy chicks that dumb guys pick up in bars. *shakes his head* This kind of outrage should not be allowed in the club.
Plus, as a sensor drone VP, I'll be able to detect you coming miles away, and me and CariElf will be long gone by the time you arrive. Your pathetic robot may be fast, but he will not be able to catch me in my silver '98 CAMRY!
EDITED to say: Oh, and as a little tip, I'm a big guy, and I'm afraid if your robot attacked me, I would have to open up a can on its skinny little body.

Bobo say him like CarElf too but him thinking this becoming like teenage chatting room. Bobo say fine if all good fun but him not like to see any people get broken heart when CariElf not say her undying love for allkinds boys with hopeful thinking.
Bobo learn this hard way many years ago when him play chatting and find out not only girl not like him even after all Bobo clever words (him not say him ape) but Bobo find out girl not girl.
Bobo go now since not any him business, but him thinking CariElf responds to questions on game not teenage fanclub. Now allkinds people get mad at Bobo.

You don't get it - the robot can do lots of other stuff, like pick flowers, sing songs, and play the piano. Of course, it can do some not-no-nice stuff - and clerics have maces too as I recall. But it's only meant as a technology demonstration. And it's slapstick! It's a Larry-Curly-Mobot! Would you rip those guys apart if they poked you in the eye?

Oh, here we go... where exactly did I say that? Don't put words in my mouth! Implying that a VP of her fan club doesn't hold her in the highest regard - why, that's like saying the president of a veterans' association never served in the armed forces! Bobo say many thanks to TheQuack. Him liking idea of working for GalCiv, making tutorial advice. But Bobo not want to take job from Frogboy. Frogboy good. Him make nice game. Bobo say him keep job.
Bobo also say thanks for wanting fanclub but that ok to not have. Bobo appreciate when peoples say him explain without using pretty words. Bobo know him words not pretty. Bobo also know him words sometimes need saying. How other peoples like Bobo words not for Bobo to worry on. Some like, some not like. All ok. Bobo still like all peoples anyway.
Bobo thank The Quack for stooges toy but him say wampyre not allow Bobo more toys. Cellar already full. But thought is nice.

CariElf: Hope you're enjoying the adolation of your fanbase, you deserve it. My question is, since you haven't posted any games to the metaverse, are you too busy working on your masterpiece to enjoy it, too busy enjoying the gushing praise, or just not bothering to submit the games? |

Well, there are various reasons, but the main one is that I am kept very busy working on Gal Civ, and I tend to test more than really playing, using cheat keys that are only available to the developers to help me reproduce bugs or test new features. I don't submit games that I've used cheat keys in because that's not fair.

Bobo, as usual, speak wisdom. Me only here to let CariElf know she's appreciated, not to do silly thing like seek affection or fight over her.
So, once again: Thank you for everything, Cari (and Brad and the rest of the team). Galciv is a great game and I'm thoroughly impressed with your efforts to make it even better, and you're the best tech support I've ever known
(btw, Me think help text would help more if Bobo wrote it, but maybe Bobo too busy. No bad, help text good already.)

I normally agree with most of what Bobo says. However, in this case, I'm going to have to disagree. I think that you should know that the people here, for the most part, are not completely serious (me, for instance; I'd like to think that CariElf thinks something I say is funny, but I don't care that much, and I certainly don't -really- want her to send me any vampires or whatever else; it's a joke). But it's a joke that you pretend is reality, because it would lose its effectiveness otherwise. It annoys me that I have to step out of character to tell you that what you said was out of line. The people in this thread are just having fun, and you, however much I normally like you, are threatening to ruin it.
Same goes for the people who are talking about geeks. For all we know, you are one too, and for all you know, I'm a hugely built guy with a normal social life, tons of friends, no problem with women, etc. (i.e. a non-geek) who just posts in these forums because I think it's fun. It's kind of ironic that the people who post here call others geeks a) with no sense of feeling that people might just be having fun, and b) in a forum where they are also stereotypical "geeks," just by being there (especially when they're talking about wood elves and ogres). Get with the program, there's no elitism here, no high school cliques, no name calling, so please get down off your high horse and join the fun instead of hurling insults from afar.
EDITED to say: Bobo's apologized, so ignore everything in the first paragraph. However, the second paragraph still applies.
