starbase maintenance

i wanted to see if my trade oriented starbases were worth the upkeep. my trade income was at 300. my maintenance was at 660 only part of which was from the trade starbases. i destroyed 4 trade starbases. i went through 4 turns. when i looked at my economy numbers they were exactly the same. 300 trade income, 660 maintenance. whats the deal...why didnt these numbers change.

The Maintenance cost didn't change because ships count as starbases and as such their so-called maintenance cost is included in the "Military" figure. Personally I agree with you that the cost should go into the "Maintenance" figure and I can't imagine why Stardock didn't put a maintenance cost into the maintenance total. I mean, really.

Okay, having vented about that, I have to add that I have no idea why your trade income didn't change.

ok now where is my maintenance cost coming from. i dont have any planetary improvements at all.

the trade bonus only occurs when the little freighters pass through a the sector containing the trade bonus starbase.

shall the guru tell you why the "Trade" did not go down?
very well since you begged,
if you go to "Trade" in the "Domestic Policy" Screen you can see each trade rout an at the top is "Turns" and a number / number (i.e 123/321) the first number gose up to reach the second number when it dose the trade frighter is at the begginning star system
after that happens your trade will go down because the S.B is no longer affecting the trade
