Is there anything you can do to affect how often they crop up? I have gone 5 or 6 relatively long games in which I played all the way through and got 2 or *maybe* 3 events. I have never gotten to experiment with any of the alignment specific techs or anything because I never get a chance to change my alignment, and I sort of feel like I am missing out on an aspect of the game. I've tried luck +25 and +50 as well as creativity, and none seemed to make a noticable differance. I have the latest version, at least I assume I do because stardock says I do.

many of the alignment opportunities come from colonizing planets. on tiny maps you might not colonize enough to make much difference. Try a bigger map.
