In this game im playing the I-league is severly taking over i mean they have take like 6 or 7 stars from every race except my own (good thing for that +10% on influence). Seems like the I-league has there eye on becoming a major race.

But will this be a problem later?

most likely yes... in the game im in i let the Fundamentalists get too powerful, and now they are THE ruling faction in the universe with like 20dreadnoughts in each planet they own and they have overlord tech... and even though they are only supposed to go for bad guys, they are now wanting to war with me and everyone else, and i have no doubt they will win... it feels bad to loose to a minor i tell you

Don't forget: if you are the only major left, you win . Even if you are losing a war with a minor

Yeah well i think some AI had a plan to explot the minors and his plan got out of hand they arnt powerful enough to take on me or any other remaining main race but im afriad in due time they will.

They're like roaches; the trick is to stomp them out as soon as they appear. Otherwise they'll spread so far and so fast you'll never get rid of them.

The I-League completely wrecked my game once, now as soon as I get that event I drop everything and rush a bunch of transports over. (though it's nowhere as easy as with the other minors because they seem to start off with such a large population.)

Yeah maybe in one of the updates or something the I-league will be a major race. heh.

But they shall die. Or i shall let them live and let them kill all the other major races except mine so i can win weeee!

Yep the I-league is now rated the most powerful civ in my game err im 3rd so that makes me wanna kill them but its hard when it takes 3 AMM's to distroy one death knight sometimes it takes 1 to distroy it but not often so i'v made about 40 AMM's or so and set them all on auto attack so there are little "schools" of AMM's out there hunting down the I-league ships.

AMM's come after you get dred tech and then they are right there with other military production (IE same place as where you'd go to build a ship)

The I-League has always essentially been a major race.

They're part of a special category called Associate Races. These races, which also include the Fundamentalists, the Dreginol, and the Dark Arnor, have all the capabilities of the major races (inculding having a culture capable of causing planets to defect), but don't count towards victory conditions. It's entirely possible for one of these races to complete any of the victory conditions (that don't require your destruction first).

I'm guessing you're playing with the original version of GalCiv. AMMs weren't added until later.

I crush the I-League as soon as they show up. Always the Kwilisians (or however they're spelled). When I get the message, off go the transports.

They can ruin your game rather quickly.

Perhaps you have an older version? I first saw them in version 1.04, I believe.

I like to coerce the strongest of the Minor races into fighting the I-league and then attack them myself after they go after the Minor. If you notice their strategy, the I-League likes to trade a lot...cut off their trade asap and gut them. If you wait too long they will actually ally with some of your enemy majors and then it is a big battle to stop them. One thing to note is the I-League ships sure get a ton of hit points.

I've been playing since the original beta, and I've never seen the Dreginol or the Dark Arnor. Are they totally random, or is their appearance dependent on good/evil alignment or some other factor?

I have seen them twice so far, but I can't see any connection to the two occurances. I think it was completely random. Even the size was different. I was Pure good each time though.

Pure random.

I've never seen the Dark Arnor, AFAIR. And the Dreginol have always popped up so late in the game, I have a huge unbeatable war fleet to crack them when they first pop up. Well, so far... (*knock* *Knock* *knock*)

Yeah, try beating them with a handful of Avatars while they are pumping out 2 Overloads a turn. They start off with an insane amount of money like 10,000,000bc or something, so they can just pump them out.

The Dark Arnor require a special event. Something about a cult and an ancient artifact. The Dark Arnor are a race of the "Precursors". The event continues over several seperate events. It can be stopped with high espionage level in the cult's race. I think its a very late addition and is also extremely rare. (by the way I have not seen them myself, I am just a newbie.)
