Help with Minor civs

How does one determine whether a Minor civ is allied with a Major? I have found this out the hard way by declaring war and getting in over my head more than once. Also, how does the numeric military rating of a Minor civ compare to the graphical rating of Majpor civs? Is there some method to compare the two? Thanx in advance for any help.

I have no clue, since I just started playing the game yesterday, and have barely any idea what any of these posts are talking about.

I'm replying to this because I've tried to post 3 things that haven't shown up yet, and I was curious to see if this would work. Is there a set time or something between when you submit a post and when it shows up for everyone to see?

If this does work, I apologize to Archangel for asking my own question in the middle of your thread, but I'm a very confused person right now, and getting tired of throwing chunks of my hair at the computer screen .
