Metaverse Scoring question

When I go the metaverse list and click on my own name 'mightygoobi', I note that the points that I have scored per game, do not tally up to my overall points. Is there some kind of modifier at work? If not, I would seem to have a let less points than I actually should have.

It's a system wher your points are added up and divided by the square root of the number of the games you've played. As you play more over time your score begins to age as well.

I see...

So if I scored 900 points and I have played 9 games, then my score would be 900 divided by square root of 9 = 300?

And there's some decay of my points due to the time that I played my game OR the number of games that I've played? So do I lose X points every 100 days or X points every 100 games?

Many thanks for the tip

It's broken into blocks that are each 30 days (the first is 31 day I think). The block begins on the last day you submittted a game and extends 30 days back from that, then a new block begins. Each block is assigned a % that the points earned in that block are worth. A one point the games fall in to a large block (261+ days old) and no longer age. I try not to think about it too much. With a steady submission rate you will continue to gain points. If you crank out games and then slow down a lot, it will hurt you later on.

Wow! That sounds complicated. I'm presuming some much smarter person than I came up with that system. I take it the point is to encourage people to play consistently rather than in one big hit and then drop off. Thanks to you for the info, is this stuff printed somewhere in an obvious readme that I missed? I've been reading about Morale, PQ etc. as well and it seems that there is a lot of information on the stats behind everything that I haven't been able to get.

Not that I know of. I just regurgitated what I've learned. Drop into the Empire threads, there's lots great info in them. And lots of great people too.

I moved to a new empire and now I am not able to submit games or it is due to the anti-spyware software I run. I heard a rumor that if you run them you may not be able to submit.

I need to know what program they use so I can allow it to remain on my system. I wonder why they insist on using spyware instead of normal non-intrusive program?
