So is there anyway to bomb planets or anything besides a terror star?

It gets kind of tedius to take over ever planet with combat transports or culturally, I just want to blow them all up sometimes! Like in moo2

or I should bomb them into nothingness, all the structures and people, not destoy the whole planet.

Theres no way you can do that now besides tranpsorts or terror stars. There is a bombardment ship that will be available by the time then expansion comes out.

I think it's for June.

Seems I read, sometime this summer. It's supposed to go to testers in June. Hope read it correctly.

Load a Transport with 1 (one) Million. Suicide attack and use the Tidal Wave. This will clean up the infrastructure.

Do it on all his well-developed planets, and this opponent will never bother you anymore.

Coffeedragon - That won't work. The negative, long term effects of various invasion tactics don't take place unless you successfully invade the planet. It doesn't make much real-world sense, but that's the way the game works. They want to discourage people from doing that otherwise it'd be a realtively easy way to trash the AIs.

Trust me, I tried to do it one game and noticed the target planets weren't going down in level (I was using Mass Drivers... just wanted to trash planets rather than conquer them). When I posted about it here thinking it was a bug report I got the above explanation.

But the planet population does decrease, making it easier for the next invasion to succeed (if I remember correctly, and if this wasn't changed in the recent patches).

So what you are saying Daveman, is that if you send two fleets of transports and use, let's say, mass drivers with first attack with fleet 1, killing of billions without harming the planet or infrastructure. Right after you invade with 2nd fleet and kill off the remaining survivers from attack 1?

You could conquer a planet and then disband it... That's what the AI did in my 3rd game, when they conquered my PQ 13 Planets.

However, that's neither simpler nor in any means sensefull compared to only conquer it.
