shouldn't it do some damage to the buildings as well, seuch as XX% of social projects desrtoyed. Also bombers might make it too easy to take the planets. All you would need is a few bombers and a couple strong ships to take out defense. The ai never builds a very strong base defense.

On a side note,LDiCesare i was looking at ur scores and noticed that you had no military conquests on a large or huge map, I am a new player and was wondering if it is to difficult or impossible to conquer the map or is it just easier to tech or culture win??
I guess we have to wait to see how they handle bombers. I agree that repeated bombing makes a difference vs. transports, just hope the ai will keep a good warship on top of the bombers to prevent leased AMM counterstrikes.
chaoticspyder, I tend to win culturally or by alliance on bigger maps because it is tedious to move all the armies around. Also, I prefer smaller maps, so I habe more varied results there. And I think tech win is far too easy on big maps because it is very easy to keep your many worlds. I had a promising tech victory which would have been disastrous military-wise for instance on a gigantic map (but I can't load the game anymore for some reason).
In Civilization you were given the option of continuing a game that you or another civ won by Spaceship. I think the same should be possible with Tech-victory and maybe Influence victory in Galciv. Especially when in 1.04 Tech-victory for the AI is enabled...
