Can anyone please tell me how to build troops load a tranport? The manual does not say (in fact it sucks). Is there anything like a FAQ where I can get these questions answered?

Reseach impulse drive then build it then double click on it and load it like a colony ship.

Thanks, but what do you mean by 'load it like a colony ship'? How do you do that?

ElMeanYo - when you build a transport, the star system that built it will do one of two things:

1) If you have "Auto-launch Ships" checked, it will load and launch the transport up with 1/2 the available people on the planet, or half the capacity of the transport, whichever is lower. This should mean that the transport will already be launched and available to fly to the star system you wish to conquer. Moral of the story? UNCHECK "Auto-launch" when building Colony Ships, Transports and Combat Transports.

2) If "Auto-launch" is turned off, the ship stays in orbit in the system that built it. It will appear on the right hand side bar, underneath the planet list. Single click on the planet and you should see a little icon of the ship. If you double click on the ship, the space underneath the "In Orbit" box becomes "Load Troops", with a slider. Slide it to the desired number of people (with Transports, assuming you built it in a planet with >1.1 Billion people, usually all the way full!) and hit the little green button marked "Launch"

You'll notice that apart from the loading slider and "Launch" button, it's exactly the same way as launching warships, survey vessels, scouts and sensor drones. Hopefully you have figured this out and have been on the offensive at least once in your playing history.

Happy Hunting!

Yes, this all makes sense now. Thanks for taking the time!
