Game score algorithm?

I was wondering how the game score is calculated.
In looking at the metaverse scores, I see huge deltas that go quite unexplained.

Most simple games are in the <100 range. Ok, that's clear.
But then I played a beginner game, and I scored 1780 points, which is generally in the crippling range.

Is it because I won an alliance victory?

I also wonder what N/A means on the difficulty level?

N/A Means that the game was submitted using 1.00. The difficulty wasn't recorded.

The scoring got a lot more generous in 1.04, and scores on gigantic were decreased.

I was getting 100 for a tiny/rare win in 1.03, and I'm getting 1500-2000 in 1.04.

The scoring is still strange. I got over 10K in a 1.04 game which was obviously screwed up. That score was subsequently reduced to 1048, which I assumed was about right. Now in my first game under 1.50 I get 5000+ under normal difficulty (well played but still just normal) and the 1048 score has been reduced to 100. Go figure.
