First, when you pick the +PQ racial trait, is the bonus percentage applied as soon as you see a planet or only after you land on it? (ie... is that size 20 planet *really* size 20, or am I just seeing it that way because that's what it's going to become after I colonize it)

Second, is the planet's PQ permanently upgraded, or is it just upgraded when you own the planet?

Finally, what exactly is the effect of PQ? I know it helps morale (a lot) and it can hold more people. However, I don't understand why my high PQ planets are always the most powerful. (Most research, production, and influence)

Alternately, if someone could just point me to a FAQ that explains the inner workings of the game, I'd be much appreciative. (The explanation of the economy in the manual is pretty vague... I didn't find it very helpful.)

1) Bonus percentage applied after you land on a planet.

2) Planet's PQ upgraded then you own a planet.

3) Morale is better, more base production/research capaicty, better influence, more base income (it's depends only on PQ). Any planet can hold 100.000 people - not dependant on PQ.

Alternately, if someone could just point me to a FAQ that explains the inner workings of the game, I'd be much appreciative. (The explanation of the economy in the manual is pretty vague... I didn't find it very helpful.)

Forget about manual if you want exact numbers - it's wrong.

Just ask if you have some questions.

Hah! Or try the new manual! (0.99.010) - much better on the economy, AFAIK!

And (3) - also higher levels of production before waste etc kick in (limiters are based on PQ)
