It gets a little tedious playing games after they're basically won, just to ensure its worth submitting (ie getting all the techs etc.)

Just wondering if you can get high scores with ultrs fast wins on tiny/crippling.

Can an early win date overcome the lack of wonders/techs/population etc.?

The answer is a clear no. You have to build up your empire to get a decent score.

Unfortuantely not.

No your score never drops. So score wise, it always pays to hit turn.

Though there is a point of seriously diminishing returns so hitting turn wouldn't yield you much.

Doh!
There really should be a bonus for very early wins. As it is it seems best to dominate early, then ease back with a large proportion of the galaxy and use cheese to prevent the opposition capitulating.
. . . sells the Torian homeworld back to them for the 20th time, and considers building a party palace next to it and gifting it.

The speed of the win is a factor in the scoring if I remember correctly. However, it is insignficant compared to other factors such as pop, tech and economy, etc.

I tend to get a score of 4k to 6k for a quick win on a small map. That's not particularly good, but those are a couple of games there that I didn't play long enough to produce a Frigate.

On a small map, you can make a survey ship rush if you find power ups quickly...

you can also rush to dreads or rangers and completely overpower the ai.

though this only yeilds a good 3k at most. but if ur a noob i guess its ok...

but a survey ship? never seen it done... the best u can get with one is 6/6 or so....

maybe a star hawk.... but with a early game rush... you might get out 2 majors civs.... is it me or are the torians always double your pop?

At the end of my last medium game, I had a survey ship with an attack of 48! Frequently, I can have a survery ship with an ATT of 10 or 11 by the time Frigates are out.

As a pirate, I do concentrate on developing the survey ship. I once took out ships for all 4 Yor systems with a survey ship eliminating them before the first star fighters came on line.

The survey ship is an integral part of my rush to impulse drive. I'm surprised no one else uses it. Even a 'bad' map, I can usually get an ATT of 4 before I can buy my first corvette.

I noticed the survey ship and use it accordingly. I actually build a second survey ship after a while and let the first have a little "fun".
