Submit problems?

My latest game did not give me the option to submit to the Metaverse (went from the victory graphs to the main menu), and I was just wondering if it was down. Sadly, I dont have the time to play the game near as much as I did when it first came out, but I do remember a Metaverse submission issue a while back. So, I was hoping to find out why my game did not post. It's no big deal, of course, but was worth asking.

Happy gaming.

The absence of a submit screen typically signals that the game did not detect an internet connection.

Unless you switched your internet access mode (say to DSL) a while ago, there shouldn't be a problem considering you successfully submitted one on 17 Aug. Maybe you should reload the save and try again.

Thanks for the response, Ray. Nothing had changed since my previous submit, so I tried again from the saved game and this time it gave me the option. It was a glorious victory, though you may notice that since the game has been tweaked, I can no longer win above tough (I have either gotten slower or the game has indeed gotten smarter, as advertised). Who knows, within a few games I may feel like punishing myself again...

Happy gaming.

Good to hear of your successful submission, Gordeleth (btw what does your nick mean?).

Quite a number of game balancing tweaks have gone into the game since 1.03 so it is tougher now. But I'm sure you will be able to move back to the higher levels after a few games.

If you have not yet seen the changes since 1.03, check out this http://sdcentral.stardock.com/public/gc1/beta/history.htm Link

Happy gaming to you too.

ps. if you wanna be part of an empire, just give me a shout.

Gordeleth was just a name I coined way back in the beta days of Everquest (Gorde for my Sci Fi games, usually). I just invented a name that sounded appropriate (but is anyone truly inventive in a world of this many imaginative people?); why, does it mean something in a language? LoL, I also used to go by Pied (Pied Piper was my bard), but alot of people started asking me if I was French (means 'foot' apparently).

As for empires, I appreciate the offer, but I have always been confused as to their purpose. Granted I am not the most well-read, but it seems to me they serve no purpose (please enlighten me if you feel I am mistaken).

Also, thanks for the link. It should help me get caught back up on the latest scoop (RL has kept me very, very busy lately).

Empires are just there for more fun and interactive purpose. For instance, if you have a questions like "how the hell other people get 20000+ points?" then one of your clan member(empire member) could answer. It's just trying to make the game more fun and more interactive between people. If it's no fun then you don't have to join, but if you are active and submitting games regulary, then most likely people will ask you to join their empire. Because empires are primarly based on "we will be the first place" or "we kick their buttt" or something like that.

I played lots of games ever since Pac Man came out. It's been about 20 years and I created number of clans and joined number of clans for number of games. All I can say is it's fun. If you have never joined a clan before you might wanna try it and see. You can join any clan(in this case, empire) any time you want and leave it any time you want. Try and see how it goes.

You might as well start with Illuminati right now..

I've not played Everquest but empires are just like guilds. Yes, the interactiveness will never come close to that of a persistent world but I personally have had lots of fun empiring as well as Galciving.

The Fellowship is a fantasy theme empire which is also into serving the community, discussing strategy (you see that folks from the Fellowship are very active in this strat forum) and role-playing. I'm playing the role of a wizard and we would love to have another bard join us (we have one bard currently in our empire).

Give it a shot. Don't think you lose anything by trying it out.

The Fellowship page is here http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=329 Link Check out our site as well http://www.angelfire.com/rings/fellowshipgalciv Link
