Hello everybody!Epokhe's first post and starting off with some questions...

1.TG-I've played my huge map game now for some time (a week or so) and I think i'm doing fine.I have most of the TG's.Question is-if I sell(?)/trade TGs does the receiving part get all the same bonuses as I or do I keep some extra bonus?Also-do I lose the trade good ;f.ex. can I sell TG for good?
2.When I mine the resources, do the bonuses apply to all my colonies or only to those colonies found in the same sector as the resource? In some SB addition descriptions it is mentioned that the bonus applies only to "nearby colonies" or something...

The game is great and can't wait to post my first results to Metaverse!!

Welcome to the forum, Epokhe.

1. The AI gets the exact same bonuses as you. You are basically selling a license to the AI to use the trade good. You don't lose the TG bonuses when you sell. For me, I sell most of them to the AIs.

2. Mined resources have empire wide effect so they can be anywhere. Other SB modules (military, industry, trade etc) have single sector effect. Cultural modules affect the sector the SB is in (5x) and surrounding sectors (1x).

Have fun with the game and Metaverse.

So am I and I share your sentiments. I'm dying to finish my next game to see if I can get promoted.

Your English is fine. Chinese is my native language but English's my first language.

Also of note, the AI you sell the trade good license to can not resell it.

I seem to remember selling the same trade good to an AI twice, but could just be a brain fart moment. Brings up a few questions.

A. How long does the AI (or you) get to utilize the trade good?
B. Does going to war with the seller stop you from receiving that good?
C. Because if the sale is permanent, shouldn't you wait to sell them until you have the best diplomatic position?

A. Forever
B. War doesn't affect TG licenses
C. Yes, having better diplo will get you more cash. But selling now means cash in hand.

OK, I know you can sell (lease) a Trade Good to an AI, my main concern is whether they can then sell/lease it to another AI.

Also, in Civ III, if you sold an tech to another civ, they would turn around and sell it to everyone they could. Does this happen in GC?

5-ply:

Don't think of it as selling a TG to an AI. Think of it as granting an AI rights to produce the TG. Once you have researched it, it's yours and yours alone. They can't sell/lease it because it's still not their item. They are paying to use it.

The AIs will take any tech you gift/sell them and sell it to everybody else, so be cautious.

The best thing to do is when you sell one tech to an AI, go ahead and sell it to everyone else, even if you don't make much money on the deal. That way, you get something for it before the AI sells it away.

Congratulations Epokhe! Welcome to the Metaverse.

Thought about joining an Empire? The Fellowship wants YOU!
... or the Evil Empire. I know HairyTheTaco would appreciate it.

The Fellowship has no requirement on specific alignments so you are most welcome to join Epokhe.
