They are, after all, programmed to please without lingering after effects, such as disease. There is pressure to control or even prohibit Pleasure Units, however, from influential groups who are always worried that someone is having fun. Description:
Our male settlers are being abducted and used for breeding by the native humanoids. The females of the species vastly outnumber the males as a result of mutations and sterility caused when the system went thru a dense radioactive nebula. This practice is causing lots of trouble, even though many of the abductees don't seem concerned about their fate. What shall we do? (PCX file revised) 7/14)

Description:
Someone had to go and develop the sentient machine! For generations we knew it was possible but research was never pursued because all the ethical and practical problems outweighed the benefits. Fortunately the fully optimized core of thought require extremely rare and costly materials, so at least there will never be a lot of them!
