The Arceans sent a probe long ago to Earth that instructed us on how to build a jump gate to their civilization. We built this gate. The same situation once happened with the Drengins and Torians, where the Drengins sent a probe, the Torians built a gate, but then the Drengins promptly used it to conquer the Torians.
